Purpose of this manual
The Promotion of Access to Information Act gives people a process to request access to records held by public and private bodies. This page is EstateConnect's website-facing PAIA guidance and should be completed with verified legal and Information Officer details before final production reliance.
Information Officer
The Information Officer details should be maintained in Wagtail Site Settings and displayed in the verified details section where published. Requests should be directed to the Information Officer or the person legally authorised to handle access-to-information requests.
Records that may be held
EstateConnect may hold business administration records, client and lead records, property-service records, mandate and transaction records, supplier records, staff or contractor records, website and security records, compliance records, financial records and correspondence.
How to request access
A requester should submit the prescribed PAIA form, identify the requested record clearly, provide enough information to locate the record, state the requested form of access and provide proof of identity or authority where required.
Fees and timing
Access requests may be subject to prescribed request or access fees and statutory response periods. EstateConnect should communicate any applicable fee, extension or lawful refusal ground in line with PAIA.
Grounds for refusal
Access may be refused where PAIA allows or requires refusal, including protection of another person's privacy, confidential business information, privileged records, safety or security concerns, records that do not exist or requests that are not made in the required form.
POPIA requests
Data subjects may also request access to, correction of or deletion of their own personal information where POPIA allows it. The Privacy Policy explains the general personal-information process.
Information Regulator
The Information Regulator publishes PAIA guidance, forms and related information at inforegulator.org.za/paia/. Requesters may use the remedies available under PAIA if they are dissatisfied with a response.
